1. Information we collect
When you log in with Kakao: Kakao member number, nickname, profile image URL
When you log in with Google: your Google account's unique identifier (converted into an internal service number before it is stored), name, profile image URL — we do not receive your email address
When you look up a drink by photo: the bottle photo you upload (used only for identification)
Location (optional): only if you turn on the "Also record where I drank it" toggle, the location coordinates and address at the time of the lookup
Usage records: information about the drinks you looked up (name, type, story, estimated price), notes, star ratings, wishlist, comments, and error reports
2. How photos are handled
Photos you upload are sent to the Google Gemini API to identify the drink.
We do not store the original photo on our server. After identification, only a thumbnail image cropped to the bottle is stored.
To check identification quality, a crop of the label area and a summary of the result are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. Photos determined to include a person are not kept for this purpose either. If you send a “Something wrong?” report, it is reviewed together with that label crop.
If a photo is determined to include a person, an image found through an internet search is used as the thumbnail instead of your photo.
3. Location information
Location is not collected by default; it is recorded only for lookups in which you have turned the toggle on.
Recorded locations are shown only on your own "My Cellar" map. When you share something, you choose each time whether to include the location.
Your location is not shown on public screens such as the rankings or drink detail pages.
4. Storage and access
Collected information is stored on the operator's personal server (NAS) for as long as the service is provided.
For the purposes of operating the service and checking for errors, the operator may view each member's lookup history (including drink names and the address of the lookup location). Private notes are not displayed on this viewing screen.
For when the same drink is looked up again, drink information (story and price) is kept as a cache for up to 90 days. The cache contains no personal information.
5. What happens when you delete your account
Deleted: your Kakao connection information (member number, nickname, profile), location records, notes, share links, and wishlist
Retained anonymously: lookup records (drink name, story, thumbnail), comments, and error reports — kept without any personally identifying information, solely for rankings and statistics.
6. Provision to third parties
Identification and story generation: Google Gemini API (photos and drink names are sent)
Login and address conversion: Kakao API
Login: Google account login (OAuth)
Collecting search material: DuckDuckGo (searches use the drink name only; no personal information is sent)
Ad serving and visit analytics: Google AdSense, Google Analytics (cookie-based; see Section 7)
Other than the above, we do not sell or provide personal information to outside parties.
7. Advertising and visit analytics (cookies)
To cover the service's operating costs, we display Google AdSense ads. Third-party ad vendors, including Google, may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this site and to other sites.
To improve the service and measure ad performance, we use Google Analytics to collect statistical information such as the pages visited, how visitors arrived (referral sources), and device types. Personal records such as photos, notes, and location coordinates are not sent to analytics tools.
You can refuse to store cookies in your browser settings; in that case, some features (such as staying logged in) may be limited.
